Psalm 37:4 (KJV) provides a powerful pronouncement,
Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
That sounds so simple! We need to "delight" ourselves in God. And that verse also promises great rewards for doing so!
Then why is that so difficult? We fail to "delight" ourselves in God when the distractions of this world move us away from God. As Jesus notes in his explanation of the parable of the sower (Matthew 13:22, KJV),
...the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
Achieving this "delight" should be our goal every day. The key, as with most things spiritual, is to pray without ceasing.
