Either way, the right path is the one that serves God. When (not if!) we choose the wrong path, we must confess to God and ask for forgiveness.
When Joshua assembled the Israelites, we issued the following statement (Joshua, 24:14, NIV),
But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.I love the last sentence of that verse. Joshua made clear which path he sought to choose! Likewise, let us strive to choose the right path, the one that serves God.
